India’s Industrial Production ascends to 11.9% in August this year

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) ascends to 11.9% in August 2021 on low base impact, contrasted with a compression of 7.1% saw around the same month a year prior. The speedy appraisals of the index with base 2011-12 remained at 131.1 in August this year.

Aggregately, between April – August 2021, the factory output remains at 28.6% against a decrease of 25% in the comparing period of the earlier year.

According to the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation information, the Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors for August 2021 remain at 103.8, 130.2 and 188.7 respectively.

According to Use-based classification, the indices remain at 127.3 for Primary Goods, 91.0 for Capital Goods, 142.7 for Intermediate Goods and 145.2 for Infrastructure/Construction Goods for August 2021. Further, the indices for Consumer durables and Consumer non-durables remain at 118.3 and 147.3 respectively for August 2021.

Prominently, the Quick Estimates for August 2021, the first revision for July 2021 and the final revision for May 2021 have been assembled at weighted response rates of 90%, 93% and 94 percent respectively.
